3. Speed measuring and results review

3.1. First switch on the power supply on the radar gun handle, then - on the display case (photo 10,11). In several minutes on the display you will see the picture. Videoregistrator together with the radar gun is ready for performance. After switching on, the videoregistrator sets the TV mode. That means, that TV picture is transmitted on the display and the radar gun is ready for measuring. Only in the TV mode it is possible to change the radar gun modes and settings by the buttons on its panel (see the manual or booklet for the radar gun). 
In the left upper angle the information about performance modes of the radar gun is displayed (see photo 12). Before you have not enough acquirements it is better to work in automatic mode of the radar gun.

3.2. In the TV mode set the automatic mode of the radar gun by the upper button on its control panel (see the booklet for radar gun). Also set needed speed threshold on the radar gun.

3.3. To start measuring press the "START" on the remote control panel. Fixed shots will appear on the screen. In the left lower corner the target speed for each shot is displayed (in case it is measured). In accordance with chosen mode it is shown what target is measured: head or on-coming (direction is chosen with the help of button on the lower part of handle. In the upper part of the display the set of rectangular marks is moving. The color of the mark shows the speed range: if the speed is low the marks are green, if is up to the threshold of speed - yellow, if exceeds the threshold - red. If there is no target the marks are light blue. If you see the red ones, don't harry to stop the measuring. Let some shots to be stored: firstly, this speed may be higher, secondly, the car-violator will come close and it will be possible to fix the car number. After storing first 16 shots, the record of next ones will continue due to lost of previous. Follow the marks and stop the recording when there will be more red marks on the screen (see photo 13). Pictures 14, 15, 16 show the screen during measuring.

3.4. To stop the measuring press the button START again. At this moment the videoregistrator switches to review mode (instead the indication хгл appears the indication опнял in the left upper corner)

3.5. After the measuring is stopped, on the screen you will be able to see the last stored picture, the target speed, date and time. By buttons >> and << it is possible to change the pictures on the screen. In this moment the corresponding mark changes to the speed value. The color of the mark will show if the speed threshold is exceeded. The picture 17 shows the same shot as at picture 15 but in the review mode.

If the measuring is resumed the 16 fixed shots will be lost. To avoid that it is possible to store the favorite or all shots in the archive. It is possible to switch to measuring mode (START button) or TV mode (TV button).
It is better to control single targets in manual radar gun mode (to switch to the manual mode press the upper button on the control panel of the radar gun only in TV mode of the videoregistrator).

3.6. Switch the radar gun in manual mode. After you see the target on the screen press the START button. At the moment the radar gun measures the target speed and on the screen the picture and data will displayed (speed, time, date). By single pressing of START button, 4 measuring will be done, from which you will be able to choose needed shots (see photo 18-20). At the same time the radar gun with the camera can be turned in the needed direction.

3.7. If the radar gun is working in "Moving" mode, then the videoregistrator displays both the target and patrol car speeds in the left lower corner. Besides, the words "on-coming target" or "head target" are displayed according to the chosen mode.

3.8. On the screen you can see a frame that is marked by red corners (see photo 22). The buttons around OK button have the function of joystick. Press any of them and the frame will move along the screen. Then press OK. The screen part in the frame will be increased (photo 23). If you press OK again the picture will be restored.

3.9. On the camera case there is a switch that allows to adjust contrast range (see arrow on photo 21). Choose the switch position which gives better view of the car number.

3.10. Is the work algorithm is breached the device can stop reacting on the commands. In this case it is necessary to reset the system. Reset button is in upper part on remote control panel and marked ESC. Also it is possible to switch off the videoregistrator and in several seconds switch it on again.

4. Archive operations

4.1. As a rule, demonstration of measuring results is enough to solve all the questions with the violator. However, in some cases it is necessary to store the shots for the following using. Then, it will be possible to copy them on PC, print them, etc. 

4.2. For the single violator it is enough to save 2-3 more informational shots (e.g. 1.start of passing, 2. shot with the max target speed, 3. shot with min distance to the target, where the car number is better seen ).

4.3. In the mode "опнял" choose the needed shot by buttons >> and << . Then press the record button O. On the screen appears confirmation message (photo 24) and the shot will be saved in empty memory cell.

4.4. If the memory is full, the message will be displayed: "ARCHIVE IS FULL. DELETE SHOTS". Now by buttons >> and << it is possible to choose the archive shot that you don't need and delete it by button у. When the old shot is deleted the new shot will be stored in the memory. Also it is possible to delete the shots by X button without recording of new shots.

4.5. After the operation with the violator is finished, it is possible to press the START button again. New consequence of shots will be stored in the memory. Or press TV button, and the videoregistrator will switch to the mode of road situation review. In any case the shots that were not stored in the memory will be lost.

4.6. To access the archive shots, press the button ARCHIVE on the remote control panel. On the screen you will see the latest stored shot, and in the left upper corner - mode indication and shot number (photo25.) The appearance of familiar symbols >> and << confirms possibility of using the corresponding buttons for search of needed shots. The number is assigned not for the shot but for its memory cell. It means that in case you delete the part of shots the numbers of other shots can change. Nevertheless the display buttons that are marked by numbers can be used for the direct access to memory cell of the corresponding number.

4.7. In the ARCHIVE mode as in REVIEW mode it is possible to zoom the fragment of the shot with the help of button OK. To choose the fragment use joystick buttons (around OK button).

4.8. Archive can store 84 shots. As a rule, it is enough for the long operation. The same time when you pass the set for other group it is necessary to check free memory cells with the help of >> button you just check the number of the last full cell.

4.9. The whole archive or the favorite shots can be copied to computer. It is necessary to use the parallel port and extended data transmission protocol. Detailed explanation of copying procedure you can find the manual for the videoregistrator. In the dispatch set you can find a floppy disk with the software for data copying. It is possible to improve the image quality after copying.

If you computer doesn't support the transmission protocol for the parallel port, it is necessary to apply for specialist of computer service.

5. General recommendations

5.1. Videoregistrator "Kadr-1" is complicated modern device, that uses the latest achievements in microprocessor technology. At the same time the device is easy in use and operates with simple control algorithms.

5.2. The videoregistrator structure is developed considering complicated conditions of its using. Nevertheless should be carefully used: don't hit, throw it and protect from dust and moisture. Also use carefully the LCD and its connectors, connections must be held carefully without the effort.

5.3. Any device operates correctly only in the hands of literate specialist. Have same practice in using of videoregistrator before you start operate with it. The display only fixes the picture and duplicates radar gun measuring. But complicated road situation can be correctly estimated only by police officer. So, use the devices measuring while you make a decision in each specific case. But follow the common sense, practical experience and guided documents.
