operating methods for "KADR-1" videoregistrator
1. Videoregistrator assembling.
To work with videoregistrator it is enough to direct the camera on controlled part of the road and connect the wire to the display that should be defended of direct sunlight. However, it will be better to fasten all the equipment on special beam. To do it:
1.1. Fasten the beam in the car (see pic.1 and photo 1)
1.2. Secure the beam on the, direct it horizontally on measurement direction. (photo 2)
To work in motion with on-coming targets the radar gun must be direct a little bit left (approximately for 2-5 degrees). While rotating the beam, weak the screw of radar fastener. And if in this moment you are driving on last left line then you will be able to fix on-coming targets. To work with the following targets it is necessary to direct the radar gun strictly on car course. To rotate the beam it is enough to weak upper screw.
1.3. Fasten the clamp on upper part of the radar gun (photo 3) and fix it with the help of screw rotation. All connections must be performed without any effort.
1.4. The camera with lens should be fasten on clamp ("dovetail" connection). Screw in the locking screw (photo 4).
1.5. The lens can be changed by separating it from the camera fluted female screw. However, you should not leave the camera without the lens and touch the light-sensitive matrix inside the camera. Avoid ingress of moisture inside the camera.
To work in the moving with the on-coming targets we recommend to use lens with focus distance F=30ìì (distance of car number identification if to 40m). It will lighten the pointing the camera on the target. To work in stationary mode it is better to use lens with focus distance F=70 mm (distance of car number identification if to 90m). However, in this case the width of radar gun ray will be bigger than the width of the shot, because of that probability of fixing the target that is not in the shot is more possible.
1.6. Fasten the display holder on the beam (photo 5). Then put the display on the holder and press on. Choose the best display position.
You should remember that the brightness of the display depends on the view angle. The image will be the best if you will look from above (photo 6). The feature of the display allows to place the display the way you need in the car: almost vertically and a little bit lower where the monitor won't be under sun.
After fastening all the parts of videoregistrator it is necessary to connect all the wires.
2. Switching on preparation
The videoregistrator set includes (not always) two connection wires (¹2 è ¹3), that differ by the length. In general situation, when videoregistrator is used in the car (photo 6) it is necessary to use short wire. Videoregistrator is remotely controlled. When you work outside the car (photo7) the long wire should be used. In this case the radar gun is start with the help of cock.
2.1. Connect the wire. Double-row connector fasten to the display (on back side), round connector with 7 needles fasten to radar gun (on the handle from one of the sides), power supply connector also fasten to the radar gun, round connector with 4 needles fasten to the camera (photo 8 and 9). All 4 connectors are chosen in such a way that mistaken connections are impossible.
Besides the wire to the display connect the power supply wire (photo 9) from the videoregistrator set. This wire contains videoregistrator power supply stabilization scheme.
Don't use for videoregistrator power supply the curly wire for radar gun set! Don't switch the connector into the car cigarette lighter until you have finish the fastening all the connectors!
2.2. Make sure that switch on the display is SWITCHED OFF (photo 11) and that power supply wire and a accumulator battery ARE NOT ON THE RADAR GUN. The second wire tag place into the car cigarette lighter. Then the videoregistrator is ready for using together with the radar gun. If the videoregistrator is used without the radar gun (e.g. to control the crossroads, etc), then the camera is fasten on the beam with the help of holder from the dispatch set. Wire ¹4 connects the camera and the display. The image from the display can be transferred to other display that contains video-input or it can be recorded to videotape.
WARNING:
Don't switch on/off any connector while the power is on!
