Operating methods of police radar gun
"ISKRA-1"
1. Radar power supply
1.1. To connect the radar to a car board electric net use cable from the package. Connect the rod connector of the cable to the socket on the lower part of the radar handle (photo 1) and fix the lock nut without a superfluous effort. Other side rod connector place into car cigarette lighter.
1.2. For power supply it is possible to use any of supplied accumulators (photo 2).
1.3. Portative accumulator must be fastened directly on the radar gun. To perform that, enclose the accumulator to fixing surface and move it along directors till it stops (photo 3).
1.3.1. If the accumulator has a cable with a rod connector, place it into the socket (photo 1) and fix the lock nut without superfluous effort.
1.3.2. If there is no cable with a rod connector on the accumulator it means that power is supplied directly through contact group on the fixing surface. In this case you don't need additional connection.
1.3.3. To switch off portative accumulator press tip of a fixing spring, move the accumulator backward from fixing surface (photo 4).
1.4. Accumulator of increased capacity in a special case should be fastened on waist belt and the cable with a rod connector should be fastened to the power socket (photo 1).
1.5. Don't connect the radar gun to accumulator and board circuit at the same time.
1.6. After connecting an accumulator of any type it is sufficient for turning the radar on to shift upwards the slider switch on the rear part of the device (photo 5).
1.7. In the moment the speed is measured indicator segment appears at the indicator. If the segment is on the top of the indicator the accumulator has complete charge. If the segment has moved to the middle part of the indicator it means that the accumulator is really discharged and you will need to charge it again. If the segment appears in the lower part of the indicator it means that the accumulator is completely discharged and it is possible to take measurements (photo 6). Don't use the radar gun with discharged accumulator.
1.8. For charging (partial charging) accumulators use only special charging devices (photo 7). In this case full charging is guaranteed without the danger of overcharging. Accumulators do not required full discharging before charging - it is possible to charge them at any time.
1.9. Charging duration depends on the capacity of an accumulator. When the light indicator (photo 7) changes its colour from red to green, the charging process has been accomplished. If necessary, using an accumulator before the accomplishment of full charging is accepted.
1.10. After using it is necessary to turn off the power, for that disconnect the accumulator and put the radar gun and the accumulator into the case. Take measures to prevent the short circuit! The cable with the rod connector of high capacity accumulator put in special pocket in the case. Rod pin of the portative accumulator is defended by special bolster (photo
4). In case it is lost anyhow defend the bolster from contact with metal things. Accumulators broken because of short cut have no warranty repair.
2. Working modes
2.1. "Iskra-1" radar gun has 3 variants:
- "Iskra-1 " В - stationary working mode without target direction selection;
- "Iskra-1" - stationary working mode with the target direction selection;
- "Iscra-1" Д - stationary working mode with the target direction selection and ability to work in the movement catching head and following cars.
All types of radar allow you to choose manual or automatic working modes. In manual mode it is possible to use independent memory cells.
2.2. After power supply short self testing takes place (on the indicator there is special symbol "5"). Then the radar is ready for performance in manual стационарном working mode. Red letter
"
Р " marks this mode (photo
8).
2.3. Mode change is performed by pressing top button on control panel in the following consequence:
"Р"Þ
"А" Þ
"Р" Þ
"А" Þ
"Р" Þ
... (photo 8, 9, 10,)
2.4. In the manual mode one measurement of an object speed corresponds to every pressing of the trigger. In the automatic mode after pushing the trigger successive measurements of all objects are performed by a series of pulses. If an object has exceeded the threshold speed then measurements are automatically stopped. For forced stopping of measurements the trigger should be pressed and held pressed until radiation turns off.
2.5. When working without moving (standing at the side of the road or sitting in a standing car) the stationary mode should be chosen, and when working in a moving car - the mode of work when moving.
2.6. Both when moving and in the stationary mode it is possible to use the manual or automatic modes.
